RETURNING TO THE DAKOTAS IN 2010 !!!

UPDATES !!!!!

July 3, 2009

The Rock N Roll Express, The Midnight Express, The Fabulous Ones, The PYT's, Damage Inc, Bad Company, The Blond Bombers, Doom, The Texas Outlaws, Fabulous Freebirds, The Fantastics, Minnesota Wrecking Crew, The Assassins, The Southern Boys, The Horsemen, The Love Machines, The Road Warriors. Throw in The British Bulldogs, The Midnight Rockers, Doc/Gordy, Hart Foundation, Killer Bees, even the Can-Am Connection and the Dynamic Dudes. You can add more modern Public Enemy, The Triple Threat, The Eliminators, and London/Kendrick.

What you have here is tag-team wrestling.  It seems to be a "lost art" in today's pro wrestling bubble, but won't be here in UCW.  UCW's tag-team division will be an integral part of its foundation.

Tag-Team wrestling used-to-be able to be the Main Event in any organization, and it can and sometimes will be the Main Event in UCW.  Here at UCW, we love the mystique and unique excitement that is tag-team wrestling.  And by that I mean REAL tag-teams, not just, "Hey, we're gonna put you two singles wrestlers together" at random just to fill a slot. We want REAL TEAMS and that's what we hope to deliver.

Call to all REAL tag-teams, we WANT you.

Call to all singles wrestlers thinking about forming tag-teams, JUST DO IT!!!

In accordance with the beliefs of the promoters and bookers of the relaunch of UCW, we feel that the current WWE style of wrestling is the style we will be promoting in the relaunch of UCW.  We feel that this style provides a safe environment for both our wrestlers and our fans.

In the relaunch of UCW, you will NEVER see:

1) Light tubes
2) Weed-whackers
3) Glass of any kind
4) All barbed-wire ring rope matches
5) Excessive blood and bleeding for no apparent reason

At our shows, we will strive to promote pure athleticism, like the WWE does. That's not to say that occasionally when feuds are getting *hot* that we won't have a cage match or a dog-collar match, or even a barbed-wire bat or two.  But our GOAL and EMPHASIS will be on athleticism and creating a safe and fun environment for our fans and wrestlers.

This will be our style. No discussions about it. If you don't want to wrestle our way, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. If you aren't a fan of this type of wrestling, then save your money and GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

In the near future, UCW will be teaming up with D.A.R.E. for a few events to help promote drug-abuse awareness and prevention among people of all ages.

We are excited about this venture and rest assured, we will live up to those standards that D.A.R.E. teaches about.

Our performers we encourage to live the D.A.R.E. standards of life and help keep kids and others drug-free. In other words, if you want to work for us, and you take drugs or have a momentous drug abuse or drug related past, then don't even to bother to contact us for wrestling for us or be a part of the New UCW.

We want ALL of our wrestlers AND FANS to be healthy and not take chances with such a dangerous way of life.

We also will continue to drug-test our talent as we see fit.

April 16, 2009

UCW is pleased to announce that starting this year, in accordance with our training facility, that we will be teaming up with the Occupational Health Network of Rapid City to provide a safe working/training environment.

What does this mean?

This means that in UCW, we want to provide a safe, drug-free training facility.  In other words, we will be doing random drug testing for our potential students or anyone that we think is participating in drug abuse that wants to wrestle for/with us. Note: Not everyone will be tested, but everyone CAN be tested.  This test will be focused on illegal street drugs.
We're all adults, we don't need to spell it out here.  In other words, you got two choices: 1) Drugs or 2) Wrestling/Training for UCW.

Adherence to this will be MANDATORY. We all have lost great pro wrestlers, friends, family members to drug abuse.  We WILL NOT contribute to this.
In the ring, you are putting not only your life, but your partner's and opponents' lives in your hands.  Just think if someone was giving you a Barry Windham-esque Super-plex from the top rope.  Would you want him doing it while he was wasted???

Call us "Uncool", whatever whatever.  We at UCW will continue to strive and promote a straight-edge lifestyle of being drug-free.  And we want all those representing us to be the same.

More later, stay tuned,

Questions & Announcements

We've been contacted by various people that want to be a part of the relaunch of UCW.  Thanks for your time and attention, but the relaunch still isn't until 2010, so just keep checking back here and the website for updates.

An update I CAN give is that UCW has purchased a new ring.  We all so loved the old "dinosaur", but as some of you know, that was a hella heavy ring to carry and setup.

Also, locations have been scouted and we are down to three different locations for the launch of the first ever REAL UCW pro wrestling training school. It will open waaaaay before the shows start. We are also excited at the prospects of "guest trainers" also. It aint gonna be for free and it aint really gonna be cheap, but it will be reasonably priced and affordable to those that are truely dedicated.

Also, and I kinda feel weird about posting this as this should be a "given" in pro wrestling, but here goes:  As far as wrestling for the relaunch of UCW, there are basic, minimum criteria that we MUST set:

- Just because you previously wrestled for UCW doesn't automatically give you a "spot" in the relaunched version.  All "spots" are earned.

- If you aren't, when it relaunches, currently wrestling actively or training (for local guys here), then you WILL NOT even be considered.  We want a professional, polished look.  In other words, if your last match was in 2005 and we relaunch in 2010 and you aren't presently training at the UCW Dojo, then please save us both a lot of time and hassle and don't even ask.

- This is the most basic, but OF COURSE, you would think you wouldn't have to mention this but, as Jerry Lawler puts it during the Legends of Wrestling Roundtable show, "If you are the promoter, and you are paying me money, then I have to do what you are telling me to do or I shouldn't show up". The new relaunch of UCW isn't a "club", it's going to be a legit business. UCW isn't a democracy. It's the United States of the Promoters/Bookers.  They are the Presidents, they are the Kings.  If you can't, don't want to, or refuse to do what you are asked, please don't show up or even inquire to wrestle for us.  Our shows have a themed-direction and if you can't play ball, then take YOUR ball and go home. We are FIRMLY ADAMANT about this fact.

All for now & stay tuned !
